Travis Tucci Selected as Next Head Basketball Coach at Malvern High School

Malvern High School is proud to announce that Travis Tucci has been selected as the next Head Basketball Coach for the Hornets. His official hiring will take place at the Brown Local Board of Education meeting on Monday, May 11, pending board approval.

A 2012 graduate of Malvern High School, Tucci has deep roots in the community and a strong connection to the program. He played basketball for Marietta College and then continued his education at Kent State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in History in 2018. Travis is employed full-time at Reliable Supply Chains in North Canton.

Coach Tucci brings extensive coaching experience to his new role. Since 2015, he has served as the assistant varsity basketball coach and head junior varsity coach at Malvern. In addition to his work on the hardwood, he has also been a junior high football coach since 2015. Tucci is the founder and a coach of the Tri County Basketball Club and has dedicated countless hours to developing young athletes through various youth basketball programs.

Tucci has a strong passion for the Malvern community and is deeply committed to the growth of his student-athletes both on and off the court. He believes in building confidence in his players while fostering strong relationships and accountability. Developing a strong work ethic and emphasizing player development are central to his coaching philosophy.

“Travis has built extremely positive relationships with our student-athletes and throughout the community,” said Malvern Athletic Director Dave Tucci. “Those connections, along with his commitment to the program, will be a tremendous strength as he steps into this role. We are excited to see him lead Malvern basketball forward.”

Basketball has long been a central part of Tucci’s life. Coming from a family with a strong basketball tradition, both of his parents were players who helped shape his passion for the game.

Tucci will succeed longtime head coach Dennis Tucci, his father, who recently retired after an impressive 33-year career leading the Malvern basketball program. The transition marks both a continuation of a proud family legacy and an exciting new chapter for Hornets basketball.

Malvern High School looks forward to Coach Tucci’s leadership, commitment to student-athletes, and vision for the future of the program.
