Malvern High School’s Rodney Smith Signs with Ashland University Congratulations to Malvern High School Senior Rodney Smith on signing his national letter of intent to continue his academic and football career at Ashland University. Ashland University is an NCAA Division II school and competes in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference. Smith earned Division VII All-Ohio First Team honors after a remarkable senior season, finishing with 68 receptions for 1,244 yards and 18 touchdowns. He scored 20 touchdowns overall and added two 2-point conversions, totaling 124 points. Additionally, Smith was named an IVC All-Star and led the area in interceptions with six—returning two for touchdowns—while recording 37 tackles on defense. He also handled punting duties for Malvern, averaging 34.5 yards per attempt. Rodney is also a standout basketball player on the Malvern Hornet IVC Championship team. Congratulations, Rodney Smith, on this incredible achievement!
