Recently some students and parents have called in to the school or gone to teachers with concerns about a hit list that was supposedly created by a student. These rumors are incorrect. What likely created this rumor was a yearbook in which the student in question crossed off students in the class that no longer attend Malvern High School. This was intended to separate current students from non-current students, not as a list of students to “hit”. I have the yearbook in question on my desk and have verified that the only students crossed off are those no longer attending school here.
We have spoken to this student and their family about this.
We take the safety of all students and staff of Brown Local Schools very seriously. While this incident did not turn out to be a threat, we encourage students, staff and families to be vigilant and to please report to a staff member as soon as possible any suspicion of dangerous behavior.
Thanks for your support,
