Brown Local Schools will be hosting its first ever, “Hornets Hack Hair.” This event will take place in May and consist of students and teachers donating ponytails to the charity, Locks of Love. This charity is a non-profit organization that provides hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children suffering from long-term medical hair loss. It is a great cause and wonderful way for our school community to do something nice for those who are less fortunate. The event will be held in May so people can get ponytails long enough to make a donation. Ponytails must be 10 inches in order to be made into the hairpieces. If we can get ten donors, Mr. Rodriguez has agreed to grow his hair out until the day of the event and allow all donors to shave his head! We will have hairdressers on site at the school to cut all ponytails at a celebration assembly! If you would like to join me in this great cause, please fill out the intent form attached and return it to the office no later than September 7, 2011. I would like to have a rough estimate on how many donors there will be so that I can be sure to have enough hairdressers! Let’s get ready to “hack some hair!”
